Wheelchair Accessible Office

Lightship Dental strives to provide excellent care to geriatric patients. Our dentists and staff have years of experience in treating elderly patients who need wheelchairs, are on stretchers or who cannot recline.

Our office is wheelchair accessible. We offer convenient handicapped parking, sidewalk ramps and very spacious treatment rooms to accommodate wheelchairs and stretchers. Our geriatric wing is specially designed to treat patients unable to transfer from their wheelchair or who arrive on gurneys. Our reception area is also large enough to accommodate several patients in wheelchairs at the same time.

Non-Ambulatory Care

Lightship Dental is available to long term care facilities and hospitals.  Our team will evaluate the resident’s needs and create a treatment plan that is both appropriate and efficient.  We are likewise available to provide in house training to nursing staff to improve the levels of preventative hygiene.  Such coordination of care will ultimately improve the standard of living for the residents.  We encourage assisted living, nursing home and rehabilitation facilities to contact us and create a plan that is often unique to that facility.

Likewise, for home bound patients our staff will visit to evaluate need and medical status.  We will help coordinate transportation to Lightship Dental and address the patient’s dental needs and maintence  in as efficient, timely and comprehensive a manner as possible.

We realize this population is often medically as well as cognitively impaired.  With patience and gentle care we hope to provide a comfortable experience that results in an improved ability to enjoy food, eliminate infection and potentially live a longer, healthier life.
